Inventory Management

This bespoke system was designed around using a modern web interface for many users of different technical ability. Originally based on a loose collection of spreadsheets, the company had issues with data being overridden, lack of approval control, and frequent data corruption due to ill-formed excel formulas.

The new system, written in C# with an Azure SQL database had functionality to:-

• create purchase orders
• approval limits and workflow
• recording the receipt of goods
• recording the receipt of invoices
• a goods returned process
• management dashboard of expenditure
• current stock levels, replacement value and re-order levels
• API to reduce stock from other systems

Weighbridge

This system was written for one of our clients that had weighbridges from different manufacturers, and they needed the freedom to design the system and processes exactly how they wanted it.

• integration with the weigh indicators from Precia-Molen and Avery-Weightronix
• integration with IP cameras to store images of vehicles on the bridge at the time the weigh is capture.
• Integration to third party ERP and vehicle systems to reduce the number of repeated data entry
• Central database which aided BI reports
• API driven design

Web Dashboards

We have written numerous secure portals to capture structured data (forms that ask a specific set of questions), and then able to display KPIs back to the business. Using responsive design users are able to access these portals from desktop, tablet or phone.

Laboratory Information Management

This WinForm-based system is used to collect and store millions of sample records relating to the agriculture sector, with automatic data retrieval from testing equipment from manufacturers such as FOSS, Charm and Calibre. It is also used to analyse and combine multiple test factors to provide unique analytics and trends.

Further enhancements have included automatic generation of "certificates of analysis" that can be sent from email or EDI to customers before goods arrive.

API Development

We have created many API only solutions, usually as wrapper around a legacy system, that provides a structured, tested and modern medium to retrieve and send data.

Examples include a repository for futures market information supplied by Reuters EIKON, with buyers able to perform business calculations using Excel and then upload them to the central ERP system.

APIs can also be incorporated into Excel for data verification and mass-uploading into database systems where responsive mobile-friendly interfaces can be used to view and interact with legacy data.

PowerBI

This powerful BI (business intelligence) tool from Microsoft is part of the Power Platform suite to technologies. It allows for dashboards and reports to be made from numerous data sources. Once published the reports can then be further filtered and refined by those with access. It is a great tool for business leaders to look at the health of the business across many metrics.
